Learn the art of DJing

DJing is a great career or hobby, as well as being an incredibly powerful form therapy.  Whatever your reason for learning, I can teach you what you need.

A small number of slots have become available for Beginner DJ lessons, at my home in Corton, Suffolk.  This is a very limited opportunity, available on a first come, first served basis.    

I have 20 years + experience playing at various events, festivals, clubs, bars, competitions and private parties.  I will show you how to use the professional Pioneer XDJ RX controller.  This is as close as you can get to the industry standard club set up, without spending £12k!  However, the principles I teach you can be applied to any type of dj equipment - whether vinyl or cds, or digital.  You DO NOT need to spend a fortune on equipment to get started. 

In order to give you the best possible experience, there will be a few things I’d need to know from you in advance:

• Genre of music do you want to play?  

• Any previous learning or experience? 

• Reason for learning?

• Existing equipment you may have? 

Once I have a better understanding opf your personal circumstances, I can then move on to teach you the basics.  This includes understanding song structure, phase, beat matching etc.  Do not try to master flashy techniqes With the new technology, I can get you up to a good standard quite quickly I can then show you the more complicated stuff once you are confident.  My philosophy is - this needs to be fun and relaxing experience, not overwhelming and stressful!! 

All 121 lessons are fully personalised and tailored specifically to you.  Please do not be fooled into spending £500 to access a few short, generic DJ videos online!  

I can introduce you the software you need to get started etc, where to get your tracks, how to use the equipment.  Can also show you more advanced stuff ocne you have mastered the basics.

For those who wish to pursue DJing as a career, I can offer select students a DJ slot at our forthcoming club night Resurrection.  This is held locally in Great Yarmouth.  Learning to DJ is one thing, but getting gigs is another.  Ots ofeten about who you know or if you have expericne,  This is an opportunity to gain that crucial live experience that other DJ's can struggle to find.  You will also be able invite your friends and family along to support you while you show off your new skill.
